Beware Steelcraft nerf bars

Purchased a set of 4" nerf bars 2 yrs ago for my 2014 Silverado dbl cab. Purchased the stainless steel bars along with the stainless steel brackets and hardware. Fast forward 2 years. Drivers side bar seemed to be loose. When attempting to tighten the screws on the bottom of the bars, some of them just kept spinning with rust falling from the holes. Turns out everything is stainless steel EXCEPT the threaded inserts in the bottom of the bars for the lower support bracket. The inserts were rusted away.

Steelcraft replaced them since they have a lifetime warranty. The new ones use the same threaded inserts as the bars they replaced. The replacement bars also have a mfg defect. At the outside of the end of one bar, they burned thru the polished finish about the size of a golf ball. Maybe warranty replacements are 2nds or rejects they save for this purpose. Not sure if I will notify them since I'll need to be replacing them again in another 2 yrs.
