Good grounds for aftermarket sound system?

Has anyone found a good ground for their aftermarket speaker system. The seat studs are not a good ground. I am getting noise through my system and I have even gone as far as getting a high-end amp to try and get rid of it with no results. Not sure what else to do. I am getting alternator whine and everything but I cannot seem to either find a good ground in the back or determine whether the issue is with the truck not being properly grounding. I may drill a hole through the rear floor of the truck and ground there but does anyone have any ideas? I have just been living with it but it was bugging me this morning so my mind is on it again.

 

Do I need to upgrade grounding wires and points/ add additional grounding points under the hood? Maybe to the frame or the body?

I'm interested also. Buddy of mine but 2 subs and an amp Unser rear seat and everything works but when he drives and accelerates the bass/subs keep increasing volume... weird

Run a wire to the frame.?

I ground to one of the backseat mounts with no problem. They are not created equal, there is 1 back there that is a bolt, not a stud and nut. That might be a better solution for you.

There are small round magnets that will fit over your power wire that will cut down on alternator whine. Check some of the Ham Radio parts sites.

I have had no issue at all using the middle seatbelt stud. I actually have removed that seatbelt as I never have passengers and the stud is strictly used as a ground. I run O gauge wire.

are your rca's, and power wire or remote wire ran together?

Not in this build but I have had them together in other vehicles and have never had a problem. Are you using pure copper of CCA wire?
