jefferwin55 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I have a 2001 sierra 1500 5.3l and cannot for the life of me figure out my issue. When im driving at any speed, let off the gas, then give it anything past like 10% throttle, it lags for a second then will go no problem. If I slowly ease in to it, not a problem at all and no lag. Also, when im traveling 60km and above, if I give it gas the RPMs wont go up until I give it about 30% throttle then she goes. My transmission has been replaced with a 4L65E and my tcase has been rebuilt (from other issues and was happening with the old 4L60E too). But the problem is still there. I know that the slip yoke can cause clunking when going from park to drive or reverse so I was thinking of changing that out for the nickel plated replacement but figured id see if anybody else has this issue. Thanks!

Thanks! Maybe it's an issue with the Throttle position sensor, or how the system is communicating with it ??
jefferwin55 Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 TPS has been changed but maybe a reflash is needed since it has been programmed a few times.
XSKIER Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 You need to have a scanner on it while the symptoms are present. It may be dumping ignition timing, going lean, or going rich. If your VCM has been programmed a few times, it may be in the torque management, or burst knock retard. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
