I just put it in today and I already love it. It looks like it was supposed to be there, why gm didn't do this I don't know.

Just have to grind the sides down so it will fit. I also added velcro to both sides so it would stay in place.

Beer comes in 6 packs, unless you are a 4 pack wine cooler kind of guy?

It's actually a brilliant idea, but my wife would object, that is where she puts her purse. Does it pop out easy with the velcro?

Yeah it pops out pretty easy.

Does anyone know if this will work on a 2017 2500HD?

I would think so, i know they made the cup holders non removable. But there's no reason you shouldn't be able to add another set.

So you just added velcro to the holder, not the sides - and it sits there and doesn't rattle or move around when drinks are in it in front of the factory cup holder in the rear position?

I did this a while back and I was prepared to add something to the sides to provide a buffer and or reduce squeaks. I simply put mine in and had no noise or movement issues. You May want to try it bare first and see if anything is needed.
