front stake bed hole / cut out?

On my truck the forward stakebed holes are covered. Is that a cap or does it need to be cut out to use the stake slot? I'm thinking that needs to be cutout.

Needs to be cut, but if you follow the outline it should work out perfectly

I just cut my covers out recently to fit a ladder rack. Used a multimax tool, that plastic cuts like butter.

Anybody know of any stake hole tie downs that fit in the front holes?

Just about any tie down should fit the front holes. They are standard stake-pocket size.

Now the rears are a different story because of the handhold in them ...

That isn't entirely true. While the size is correct the metal tabs inside the hole that they use for the tie down to grab and clamp on is different on one side. What I mean is the there is a lip on all previous trucks on the bed side that protrudes out plenty for the tie down to grab comfortably, the other side is a different story. The side closest to the outside of the bed the tab sits flush to the metal so it is unable to go under and grab the metal to be secured. All I did to correct this was take some channel lock pliers and pry back the metal an 1/8 of an inch to create a gap for the tie down to go under and clamp on. After playing around for a while and it not grabbing that is what had to be done. All the companies that make the tie downs say they won't fit the 2014+ silverado/sierra, and they are right with out some minor (hidden) modification. I have them on mine, they work just fine and it gives me a point to tie stuff down on top of my bed cover.

Hope that helps, I have no pictures of my install but they can work and do once made to. Once you cut open the stake cover and look at the two sides you can see exactly what I am describing.

Here's the metal lip he's talking about.

So when you installed toe down, did you sit on top of the plastic bed rail or down inside the somewhat countersunk in the stake hole pocket?

If you are looking for tie downs for the Colorado there are 9 small holes in the bed of the truck below the rails and you can use these tie downs. Tie down  the holes are also used for the GM bed organizer.

You can buy them in pairs or set of 9.
