2011 Yukon with p0449 code

Hello everybody I'm new around here so if I've posted this in the wrong spot I apologize. We own a 2011 Yukon Denali with a 6.2l in it and we keep getting this code for the evap solenoid. Has anybody had eperiance with this? Do I need to replace the vent soulonoid? If so where is it located? Google has only confused me on whether it's located underneath by the fuel tank or ontop of the engine. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I appreciate the links but they really don't answer my questions. Anyways I've ordered a new gas cap because they are cheap. Was hoping somebody else had seen this before.

The very first link mentioned a fix for the 449 code

 

Evap emission vent valve solenoid is what I replaced that fixed this code

Sorry must of missed that. So your thinking the purge valve is going bad? That's the one located behind the Alternator?

Do you have any hard starting? It fixed my issue, part was fairly cheap also.

Nope starts great just sets the cel after maybe 5-10mins of driving after the code is cleared.

So I changed the Evap vent solenoid (behind the alternator) and the fuel cap. Cleared the code and it came back on in about two miles from home. Anybody have anymore ideas? Thanks

Probably because you changed the purge valve, not vent valve.

Ahh I was under the impression by a previous post that it was the one I should be changing. Lol. I prolly read it wrong. So your thinking it's the vent valve underneath in front of the fuel tank? Thanks for the reply.

P0449 is an electrical issue. May be the vent valve (probably is) or wiring.

So I replaced the vent valve and that seems to have fixed it up. One thing I noticed is the fresh air inlet was really plugged up with fine dust. For anybody else with this problem it's prolly worth removing the vent valve assembly and cleaning it out. Maybe some brake clean and compressed air. Thanks to everybody that helped me.
