jawest79 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 So I'm looking at renting a large UHaul and towing it from Alabama to Michigan. From the measurements it won't fit on the car carrier, but might fit on the dolly. Although the dolly isn't recommended for RWD or 4WD. Can I tow my truck with a dolly for 1160 miles? Or do I need to go under the truck and physically disconnect the axle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Waaazooo Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I retract my statement. Call the dealer. Online sources conflict greatly. I would say "no" at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
15_silverado Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 You would need to pull the drive shaft out. Nothing with axles. Quote
sdeeter19555 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 If it's RWD, load it on the dolly rear first, front wheels on the ground. I know full time RV'ers flat tow all the time...got to be possible. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk Quote
Sierra706 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 It's in the owners manual Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
powerhaulic Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 with 4x4's neutral position in transfer case is recommended for dingy towing Quote
