These tires are really great!

When I bought my truck it came with the Goodyear LS2 P275/55/R20 tires.

 

I have almost 80,000 miles on the truck and I know I would need tires soon, so I went out and measured the tread depth and found 3 of the original tires have 5/32 tread left on them. That tells me I have 30% wear left on the tires.

The other one was replaced 4 years ago at 29,000 due to a nail in the edge of the tire and had to be replaced. It is showing 7/32 tread left on it.

 

If I am averaging 13,000 miles per 1/32 wear, it could be possible to get over 100,000 miles out of these tires!

Dang that's crazy lol I was just looking at mine the other day and noticed they seem to have an awful lot of tread left after 29k miles.

Awesome. I had plenty left on my alenzas at 50k, but wanted michelins. Theyre allright, but alenzas were probably my best oem tire...

Yeah, I'd like to know what tire pressure your running?

Well, I am real easy on the truck and don't brake at the last minute either. The tire pressure varies because first of all, I am not diligent about keeping the pressures at the required amounts.

I usually check the dash readout TPMS and when they get down to 28 or so, I will set them at 32 and that is with the tires cold.

With the temps we have here in So Calif. in winter and summer, the pressure according to the TPMS will go down to 27 and as high as 35.

All the tires even though set at all the same pressure per my gauge will read 1 or 2 pounds up or down on the TPMS.

 

I do have the tires rotated at almost every oil change (7 - 8K miles).

I did not have them balanced regularly until they had around 70,000 miles on them because I never thought of that until then.

 

Front end alignment was done a couple of years ago and is off a little bit, camber I think, but only by 1 degree according to the specs. I wasn't going to get an alignment just for that 1 degree.

Must be a good bit of difference in the 20" Goodyear LS2's and the Goodyear SRA's? 2014 SLT with 20" wheels the SRA's made less than 30k before I had to toss them. On my 2016 Denali with 20" SRA's they had around 20k on them when i sold the truck and they looked over 1/2 worn out. Now before you say bad driving habits I had an average mpg of well over 20mpg on the 2016 it was driven like grandpa. The Goodyear SRA's are pure junk tires IMO. I might try a set of these LS2's in the future if they make them in the 22" size for this 17 Ultimate, (factory 22" Bridgestone Duelers) the LS2's sound like an entire different tire from the SRA.

Be glad you didn't get the crappy Uniroyal Tiger Paws that came on mine (they also came on my 98 Sierra when I bought it new). I don't think they lasted 30000 miles (rotated with oil changes). In fact, on my '10 Sierra, I had 1 rear tire separate at about 25000 miles and hated the thought of having mis-matched tires, so I went ahead and had all 4 changed. I knew the guy doing the work and he called me back to take a look at them...the other rear tire was starting to come apart.
