Smudge under clear coat on silver Sierra

I have not done anything to it I am just studying and fuming right now. I did a structural steel platform project for a local custom shop here locally a few months back so I might stop in and see what they can do for me. Really upsets me that the dealership allows this crap I bet the same idiot guy that buffed this truck has probably buffed on somebody's new car or truck today cuz "nobody said nothing and he thought he was doing good" This picture goes to the salesman in the morning.

When I parked this evening the scratch and buffed area had caught the sun at just the right angle and you can see the mess that was made of the door. It may have to actually be repainted to ever fix this. Makes me sick to my stomach. The truck is extremely dirty but not dirty enough to hide that disaster. I am not sure what to do as the dealership is denying any liability because I did not see it before I drove it off the lot. It really did not show up until I had washed the truck 3 or 4 times they had coated some kind of heavy wax coating over the area.

That would take me 10 mins to fix it. Just needs some compounding and would be good as new. It looks like some porter at the dealership used a rotary and didn't know how to use it properly.

Yep, that's what I see too. Some bozo keeps a Makita rotary polisher with a dirty wool pad in the bottom drawer of his tool box. Hit it with a DA polisher and Meguire's M105 > M205 > Wax/Sealant and it should be good as new.

Most important thing to check is how much paint they've removed via their attempts at repair. I would find a reputable local detailer with a pain thickness gauge and pay them a few bucks to measure the paint thickness on the door. If they've knocked off more than a few tenths of a micron I'd want it replaced.
