Well, it's now happened to me...

2017 CCSB Z71 Silverado....just hit 1K...the shake, or vibrations have really seemed to kick in when I'm cruising around 80mph on the highway....Unfortunately I didn't know this was an issue before I bought the vehicle, and didn't seem to experience it during my test drive on the highway....Seems like from everything I've been able to read here, it's not too promising a future....have to drop it off at the dealership Tuesday anyway for an unrelated matter, might as well bring it up then.

Great!

I don't have much opportunity to cruise at 80 mph but have done so a few times. If I noticed a shake I would go to my dealer or tire store and have my tires and balancing checked. Don't assume you have serious issues because of an internet diagnosis.

Donstar is right, because it took a while to start it could easily be a tire or wheel issue. Sounds like yours may be an easy fix.

The 74mph shake is the bad one. It kicks in at 74mph and above if yours is at 80 probably just a tire. I had it bad and they got most of it out with tires and a bad rear end. Still not 100% for me but I'll deal. Tires will fix a huge chunk of it especially if you have the crap wrangler Sra if you do start pushing for any thing to replace them. They are terrible and get worse with wear

My truck shook at 70-75 when I first got it. Took it in and they had a new guy that rotated the tires, but forgot to balance them. Road force balanced and it was perfect. I have since then put new Michelins on it and still no vibrations.

Dropped my truck off at the dealership today to have the "vibrations" addressed.

They gave me an identical Silverado CCSB Z71 as a loaner..however instead of the stock z71 wheels, it has 20" wheels on it (only difference). All I can say is HOLY CRAP! If they can get my Silverado to ride as smooth as the one I'm burrowing I'll be a very happy man. It was almost luxurious, enjoyable and well dammit, how I expect mine to ride.

Here's hoping it's just out of alignment or a balancing issue.

Now you know what you can expect! Please report back!

Little update:

Got a call from the dealership today, stated they road forced all wheels and found them to be in spec, however they're still getting a lot of vibration in the truck...going to hook it up to a peco? I believe they said? Going to keep it another day....

Only positive in this is that they've admitted it IS vibrating, and aren't just pawning it back off to me.....yet.

Guess we'll see.
