Under dash switch

Has anyone mounted a switch under the dash around the parking brake or hood release. I installed flush mount leds in the rear bumper and want to put the three way switch out of the way.

I've seen switches and buttons mounted all over the place. Under the dash, in the miniature "glove box" that's under the cargo lamp/foot pedal adjust buttons, etc. I have also seen some members purchase new configurations for their cargo lamp/pedal adjust/etc. so they can get more buttons in there (each button is now narrower) and have this setup for their AUX lighting. Looks clean and professional, and the best setup IMO. I'll post a link if I can find it.

I used to have a small toggle switch on the driver's kick panel but moved it to a more professional looking location above the light switch.

I do really like that but I have the trailer brake controls there. I'm really looking for ideas on how to mount a switch under the dash. It's a 3 way switch that will normally not be used. So I don't want to be able to see it at all.

My buddy and I used the style switches that oburgtiger used. They sell a "box" that those switches fit into perfectly and that's what we used on his F150 to mount them at the bottom of the dash on the right side. You can't see the switches unless you're looking up from below. Would have done that on mine too but I'm too lazy to reach down.

You might also consider a wireless remote relay/switch. Some have posted about using them for light bars.

Did the light bar behind the grill. That switch is a 3-way. I can turn the light on/off/ or with high beams.

I don't have any pictures but I just bent a piece of metal bar (about 1" wide by 3" long), mounted the switch in one end facing down, and drilled a small hole in the other end. I removed the dash panel screw between the OBD port and hood latch, installed the bracket, and put the dash panel screw back it. That puts the switch above my left knee. I just reach down with my left hand and switch it when I need it (I only have a 2-position toggle so I faced it so that forward is on and rearward is off).

Sorry I don't have pics. Hopefully this all makes sense!

I replaced the dash plate that had a cubbie pocket with one without it ( GMPartsDirect Part# 22830877). I cut out where the factory trailer brake controller goes (not installed on my truck) to accept the switches and trim piece from The Switch Guys at www.Otrattw.net. They have a gazillion options.

I really like the professional looking job. The "backup alarm disable" switch caught my eye as I have often thought of installing such an alarm for occasional use. What setup do you use?

I installed a $20 kit from eBay. Even with the backup camera, I found the bumper corners were closer than I liked to nearby objects, and my wife is notorious for bumping into things. I like the results because it looks very stock other than not showing up on the DIC.

I drilled 4 holes in the bumper (kit came with a hole saw), mounted the controller behind the tail light assembly where I could access the reverse +12v wire, and ran the speaker output along the frame and into the cabin. I mounted the little speaker behind the rear seat. I added the toggle switch for towing and a relay for ignition signal. I found I had to add that relay because the sensors were active when the vehicle exit lights were on at night, which include the reverse light. Every time I would walk behind the truck with those on it would beep at me. Fixed now.
