TPMS relearn issue

Hello. Just received a new wheel/tire package the other day. I went ahead and ordered a EL-50448 relearn tool after reading that is the only way to get the tpms reset.

Wheels/tires installed and attempt to relearn the TPMS sensors after entering relearn mode without any luck. The wheels are 20x10 and the tires are 305/50r20. Idk if the wheels are too wide that the sensor wont detect the relearn tool or what but I have tried about 10 times to start the relearn process.

Wheels and tires came from Extreme Customs. Im wondering if they screwed me on the TPMS at this point. That or I got a faulty relearn tool.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

From the invoice it says 315 and the tool is the standard from what I’ve seen, which is also 315.

Yea I am putting it relearn and getting the 2 honks. The drivers side front marker is illuminated and that’s the one I’m starting wth.

It's 1 honk per wheel and 2 honks after the last wheel saying it's done

Driver front , passenger front , passenger rear, driver rear

Which EL-50448 did you buy? There are the "real" Kent-Moore ones and there are Chinese knockoffs. The knockoff units don't always work.

Also go back to the wheel dealer and make sure they ordered the right sensors. There are around 15 different ones that GM has used through the years. If you don't have the exact one for your model-year truck the BCM won't always recognize them.

I find if I hold it with the tip of the tool on the rubber from the tire right over the valve it works best.

Don't try to go through the rim.

+1 Just did this today with the cheap orange EL-50448. Make sure your battery is good,

Agree its about proper placement of the tool to stem.

I went with the Autel TPMS tool (bit more expensive) but I can bench test sensors, pull serial # etc.

Could always buy it, use it and return it...or stop in a tire shop to see if they can pull the info with their tool.

I was able to get it figured out. I actually was able to figure out that the sensors installed are Alligator sens.it. Some off brand that Extreme Customs decides to use in their installs.

So I had to go to the local tire dealership and have them program the sensors to my truck. It took them half an hour to figure it out but they finally were able to get them programmed.
