Drop Hitch

I have a '17 1500 Denali with a 6" BDS lift and was wondering what kind and what size drop hitches other 6" lift guys are using.

All depends on the trailer I'm hauling.

I have a 2017 Sierra 1500 with a 6" BDS coilover lift.

If I'm hauling my boat I use a 5 1/4" drop and if I'm hauling my utility trailer I'll use a 6 1/2" drop.

I assume with the 5 1/4" drop your boat has a bit of an incline on it?

No.

It sits level.

My boat is pretty much the only big thing I'll be towing so if I get a 6" drop I should be good to go, correct?

I can't say for sure about your boat.

You'll have to do your own measurements.

Measure the height of the bottom of the tongue of the trailer when it's sitting level.

Next measure the height of the bottom of the hitch receiver on your truck. Now subtract that number from the height of your boat trailer's tongue.

The difference will be the amount of drop you need.

Adjustable is the most versatile way to go, you can change heights depending on what you're hauling. Get a pin lock for it too
