Not too sure on this one...

So about 5 days ago, I decided to unholy my muffler from my 06 sierra 1500 and yesterday I started having some problems with the transmission. 1st gear shifts around 3.5k under casual load and 5.5k under hard acceleration. I took the truck to the shop today and they said it's because I've been running no muffler and that I need a new transmission. This sounded kinda like a load of bull to me, but I figured I'd ask here and see what everyone say

Range is correct, but late. Could be:

- Incorrect reading from the tps

- poor pressure in tranny fluid line. What condition is the fluid?

You may have been driving it a little harder because you can hear the exhaust and like it. Just changing the exhaust doesnt cause the transmission to go bad. Its ten years old it just may be time.
