Painted Light Housings

I had painted Headlight housings on my previous vehicle (Nissan Titan) and I was curious as to whether there is anyone on these forums or that users would recommend to have such a thing done? I did the whole thing on my 2004 Titan and paid someone to do it on my 2008, but there's something about these $1,000+ LED Headlamps and Tail Lights that has me a bit sceptical of the DIY approach...

I took my headlamps apart to clear the lenses but the same process obviously applies if you want to paint the housing.  Here is my post about it:

 

 

 

I'm happy to answer any question if you're thinking about trying it.  As I mentioned in the referenced post, I'm not sure I'd do it again.
