I'm looking AVS and weathertech , its hard to tell from pics which are less bulky. I am not sure if GM makes these also??

Looking at pics of both, it looks like the AVS vent visors have a lower profile than the WT.

AVS also has an in-channel vent visor

As far as being secured with tape, they are all secured with tape (in channel and the ones that mount to the exterior).  The exterior mount uses the traditional "padded" double stick tape while the in channel uses a double stick tape more along the lines of scotch tape.  On the in channel visors, the tape comes already stuck to the visor with a protective film over the outer sticky side.  You pull a couple of inches of the film off, get the visor in the channel and set in place, then pull the rest of the film off, allowing the tape to stick to the inside of the window channel.  Then roll the windows up.

Was just looking at WT instructions seems like only the rears use tape ..   the front come down the full length of the window ..

That may be correct.  I have the WT on my '10 Sierra and couldn't remember if the fronts had tape or not.  For some reason, I thought they did.

I guess I 'll go with the WT.  Since imma smoker will cover more over the window near the mirror .... even tho I want the look of the avs since they don't stick out as much

At the dealership we use AVS. It comes with a red scourge pad. USE IT. We also leave the windows up for 24 hours after the install. We buy ours off amazon as well because it's cheaper than the local parts stores and comes with the free 2 day shipping.
