Shop screw up! Do I need another alignment?

I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500.

I went to a shop to put on a 2.25" leveling kit, 275/70-18 Duratrack and get an alignment. The truck had 40,000 miles, and I knew the level would change some geometry.

I got the truck back, and the tech had mistakenly installed 285/75. Quite a bit bigger than I bargained for. We're going to put the right tires on Monday. I was curious about the alignment, If it was aligned for 35"'s... why would it work for my 33""s? I asked about it and he said it would be fine.

When I asked for the alignment originally, he was on board because of the differences introduced because of leveling kit, not the tires?

What I'm trying to figure out is if a truck was JUST aligned for 35"'s, would I be okay to switch to 33"'s or does it need an alignment.  Need to figure out if I should I request the shop should cover another alignment?

Different tires should not make any difference, if your suspension is in good shape.  The sensors are mounted to the wheels during the alignment, not the tires. But if it gives you peace of mind, make them recheck the alignment for free and give you the printouts of the before and after readings, since they screwed up your tire installation.
