Out of idle curiosity was wondering was the big block v6's (305 or351) ever offered in the early jimmiesand if so how many were produced.

Looks like they were produced until 1974 so I am assuming they were put in pickups until then.

Last year for the V-6 (305) in pickups was 1969.  The V-6 was dropped in March.  The V-6 was not offered in the Jimmy, and it wasn't offered in the Suburban and panel after '66 either.  Incidentally, the V-6 was a dealer installed option in GMC pickups through the end of 1972.

A V-6 Jimmy would have been interesting!

We had one years ago in a 2 ton car hauler, 4 speed with a flying wedge on the back to carry the car.  It didn't have great take offs but it would run 70 all day long.

It’s the same, in 1973 when I got my license gas was cheap. I could fill my car go to a movie and eat pizza with my date for 10$. I made 110$ dollars a week. My car got 12 miles per gallon if I kept my foot out of it. Gas didn’t seem cheap to me then. My car cost 2995$, I work on a farm from 12-17 years old to pay for it.
