DuckCarver Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 I am the owner of a new 2017 Silvarado, double cab, LT, 4x4, Z-71, All Star Edition, and I have a question. My truck has two glovebox’s in front of the passenger and a console storage area between the seats. NONE of them have lights in them. I talked to the Service Manager at a Chevy Dealer and he said there is NONE available! I find it hard to believe that even a Denali doesn’t have a lighted glovebox! Anybody know any different?
jimbo285 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Had a 14 Sierra SLE and now 17 Silverado LT. neither lit

No lights sorry. GM hasn't had glovebox lights for a long time in the pickups, no matter the trim.
2016 Sierra Owner Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 SLT and LTZ and higher trims have lights in the console with the bucket seat option. My 2009 SLE didn't have a light in it either.
RyanbabZ71 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 There havent been glovebox or underhood lights for years. Cost cutting measures. Luckily lights are easy to add
DuckCarver Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 Is there a light kit I can buy to install light?
Donstar Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I have found battery operated stick-on LED lights useful in dark storage areas. I don't miss the old glove box light but usually keep a flashlight handy in the truck.
