I'm currently running a Borla Touring dual exhaust with CAI and Throttle body. Any thoughts on changing out stock cat for a High flow Cat? Pros, Cons, brands?? Want to stay legal.

You need to increase your horsepower by 20%+ to see any benefit over a newer stock cat.

AFE makes a direct fit replacement that replaces entire Y-pipe with 2 new high flow cats, will most likely throw a code so be prepared to tune if it does. It is very expensive btw, not worth cost per gain IMO.

So does AR headers. I put in the y pipe with the hi flow cats. It throws a code I can see in hptuners where the tuner guy blocked the code.

For me it was worth the cost. I gained a full 50hp and the driving difference is night and day. The little things add up.

If you want real gains you have to jump to big boy leauge supercharger/turbo. My truck is a nice sporty 6.2 that sounds great. Also daily driver work truck 30k mi a year.

If your thinking about changing out cats, why not do headers also?

As crazy as it sounds. And, I know it sounds crazy. But, I like the hp gains from headers. Just don't like the added sound. Want to maintain my sound. Just want to add a few ponies.
