SRS Air bag module

So I bought my truck totaled and am repairing it, should be getting it back from the shop today and then have a few last things to wrap up on it before I can get it on the road!

One of the last things I need to do is replace the SRS Airbag module before I have the new driver's air bag put in. From what I've been able to find, I have to remove the driver's seat and get underneath the carpet to remove the  module. Nothing majorly difficult, just a pain. Has anyone had experience doing this?

Also, anyone know if the truck will drive without the airbag module connected? I need to pull it in and out of my garage to work on it while I'm waiting for the replacement, and it'd be a heck of a lot easier than pushing it in and out!

It should drive fine without the module. Just dummy lights on the dash.

You can buy a new module, but I’m not sure if it has to be reprogrammed. My buddy would rebuild cars to sell and used www.myairbags.com to reflash the old modules.

Awesome, good to know it'll make it easier for me. Thanks!

I've seen myairbags.com and a couple other sites that does seat belts and air bag modules. It just makes me really nervous using something that's reconditioned, rather than a new item.

I thought that too, but he did it for dozens of vehicles. My other buddy fixed a cobalt and I told him about that website. It worked perfect for him too.
