2017 Grill in 2014 Silverado

Recommended Posts

The local Craigslist has a 2017 grill that has the black honeycomb and I think it would look good in my truck if it would fit with no problems. How big of a job is this and how long should this job take?

Thanks,

Eddie

Figures. The grill is $50 and I was going to jump on it for that. Looks similar, my reasoning for asking.

You mind posting a picture of the CL ad?

This is the one I was looking at. From the looks of it, it is very similar to the one in my truck only black honeycomb which would look better on my black truck.

That grill is not from a 17 Silverado. I think it's from a 14-15

He has two grills up for sale. One if from a Colorado and it is probably a 17. That is not how is ad reads however. I sent an email to him to get clarification. This should fit my truck. If it indeed does, I may have a new grill this weekend.

By the looks of it the grill is most likely from a 14-15 Silverado. I just looked up 17 Colorado grills and they look nothing like that. I'd say buy that grill ASAP.

I think this must be the 17 Colorado grill. I have not looked it up.

the second one you posted must be the colorado.
The first one looks to be the silverado, but its definitely not a 16+

For $50, I'd say jump on it, you can always resell it later, for more money even.

If you need some help getting off your grill, check here

Just got this reply from the seller of the grill. I don't think he knows what he has.

Definitely go buy it!

I am headed up in the morning to go buy it. Hopefully there is nothing broken about it that makes it that cheap. If so, I got up early and will have went out ate a breakfast early.

Even if it’s broke as long as the honeycombs are good you should be good to go. My 15 was all chrome but I wanted the black combs unfortunately at least at that time GM didn’t sell the combs separate even though they are a two piece design and come apart. My dealer offered to remove them, paint them, and replace them for 400 bucks but wouldn’t warranty the work since they said even with proper prep they couldn’t guarantee it to stick. So I bought a new chrome with black combs after I figured out the part number swapped them out and sold my all chrome one for less than the 400 the paint would have cost. If you don’t get that grille I have seen on this forum where a guy Plasti Diped his with good results.

When you look at the back side of that grille you’ll see how those combs unclip.

Okay, finally got to talk to the guy. His wife had been texting me and she didn't know the difference. He says it is brand new and is a take off. He said his customers want painted grilles so he takes them off and puts painted ones on for them.
