Hooper let the dealer setup his app and they keyed the vin in wrong. They had my onstar screwed up with someone else’s. I had to contact onstar to straighten it out. Don’t let the dealer program anything other than keys lol.

Huh, I wonder if Mr. Hooper ever wondered why his truck would never start even though he kept trying and trying ?. Sorry l couldn’t resist.

 

Sometimes the simplest answer is the best answer. I guess I forget there’s somebody out there in On ⭐️ land.

My guess somebody somewhere mixed up numbers while entering vin(s) into a computer. Dealer, On Stupid, or Mr Hoop, who we may never know...

Im just hoping its cured. This truck has been possessed earlier in its life but I really like it and have kept it nice so I still want to keep it.

 

Hopefully you dont hear anything more from me about this!

Maybe the dealer was setting up another vehicle and typed the wrong VIN.  Or something is just haywire with whatever it is that receives the signal to do that.

 

I'd also be curious what happens if you disable the remote start.

Glad that you got it cleared up. I guess the lesson learned is to be sure that you set up YOUR vehicle's onstar in your name when you buy it to be sure no one else can access it even accidentally! It seems that with all this new technology comes a huge TECHNOLOGY BURDEN, what is supposed to make us free simply enslaves us..............

Yes I did purchase new, 4 years ago. OnStar blames it on a dealer (not mine) and the dealer blames OnStar.  Had I perished I would have come back to haunt OnStar!

Setting up an app would not be a service department job.

When I bought my truck new. The salesman asked me if wanted him to set up my app. I said no lol
