Not sure if I am posting to the correct forum here but my brother is able to alter a slew of different features on his BMW utilizing the OBD2 port and an application.

Are there any applications that can do similar things for Sierra's?

Disclaimer: After looking at the BMW thread and attached pdf file, I'm still a little confused....

If you're looking to unlock electronic features and whatnot by a computer code, I wouldn't count on it. I've heard that some European cars and exotics are sometimes actually well equipped with features even if you don't have them accessible. (Like the car actually having Nav but the only way to access it is for you to pay and the dealer unlock the capability in there). I don't think GM does this.. I'm sure that if you want a certain feature that you currently don't have, it will require you to purchase an new phisical unit, etc.

(I apologize for the bad grammar)

Being a VW/Audi guy in the past this stuff is amazing. I think the best feature was being able to add in the auto roll down/up window feature to the key fob.

I don't believe this exists for our trucks or if it does I haven't been able to find it.

We can roll the windows down via the fob, but not up via the fob. Press and hold the unlock button on the fob. It needs to be enabled in the Mylink system for the feature to work.

I don't understand why we can't roll them back up that way though.  WTF GM?

I know.. It's a bummer. I'd assume it's a safety concern. I think a roll up feature would be more useful than the roll down.

@Loco-diablo I know about that. I was just painting a picture of what the coding can do.  My '16 didn't have the auto down keyfob until a recent update though. My bigger wish was that all the windows were auto-up on the controls in the vehicle. At the very least the driver and front passenger. Can't tell you how many times I forget the front pass isn't and have to turn the truck back on.

I’m actually in full understanding of the original question being a Bimmercode/BMW owner as well as a GMC (Daily) driver.... I’m actually looking to answer the same question so if I find something I will get back with you & good luck with ur hunt. ✌?
