Way around entering nav while alone

I tried searching but couldn't find anything with the key words I used. I am looking to see how I can manually enter navigation info while driving alone. Yes I know it is setup to avoid taking your attention away from the road. And yes I know you can use voice control but I have a problem half the time with getting the correct information to show up. What I am looking to see if what ways I can truck it into thinking a passenger is in the vehicle at all times. Is it controlled by a pressure sensor under the seat with the liquid in the tube? When I put my Katzkin in I noticed what I thought it could be. Anyway around this?

EBay has a part that is plug and play. I bought and installed it. Works great. Under $80.

Yea I'll pass on that harness you found..... I think a construction block will just have to work.... Removing the dash to use as weight in the seat seems like a lot of work.

I never saw anything on my searches so I figured something didn't exist.

No I think you got that wrong. the harness I bought is a easy plug and play. No dash removal, I just have mine out for other reasons. The part i used also allows  Movies on screen if the format is right. check the link.

let us know how it turns out if you get the harness. Nav lockout is one of my biggest issues with oem nav.
Don't understand the issue I posted a bypass. And there are more options and much higher prices I can post...what is it you need of here than this?

Wow!  This forum is great!  I did not know this was an issue.  I did not know a driver cannot manually input while driving.  Usually my passenger enters the destination or if I'm alone I pull over.  When I am heading to an unknown destination I set the destination before embarking.  In a pinch, I will use voice command.  Press the talk feature on your steering wheel, say "navigation" and then argue with the electronic lady.  She eventually "gets it".  The one trick I've learned with my truck's voice command system is for me to talk normally.  If I speak like I'm scolding a toddler or dealing with a hard of hearing senior, more mistakes are made!  My wife and I deliver meals to shut-ins on a regular basis.  My oem navigation is heavily used and with practice has become a seamless exercise.  My suggestion is to modify behavior not the truck.  I agree that it can be frustrating at first, but there is no need to defeat any safety feature that some of us didn't know existed!
