Anyone here do any wheeling in Moab ?

Planning a trip with to go in May.

I did the white rim trail and also the Gemini Bridges in mine before heading over to Telluride and doing the Ophir pass and Alpine loop. Truck did it all with no complaints, though the lower part of Engineer pass had some challenges with a full size. I have a 1.5f/1r lift and 265/70/18 tire.

Ok, thanks just what I was looking for.

Will have my lift finished monday..

Most info I find is about Jeeps in those areas not full size trucks....

We are doing Gemini Bridges, island in the sky, long Trail, potash road, Shafer trail

White rim....

Telluride..... Nice edition to the trip... Hmmm

Potash and Shafer weren't anything challenging, just a rough dirt road mostly (though Shafer was partially on the edge of a cliff with tight turns). Not sure about the other two, trail ratings those 4 all seem the same. White Rim had a few tight spots and two steep rocky sections to test the truck a little. Nothing super crazy but the locker will kick in and is easy enough to do. It is a long trail though, be sure to air down, made the ride so much better and saved the tires. I bought a nice compressor to air up after the trails that hooks to the battery, worked excellent.

I made a huge loop from DFW starting with Tucson, Phoenix, Sedona (amazing, 2nd favorite city scenery wise), Flagstaff, passed through the Grand Canyon to Moab, then Telluride (1st favorite city and be sure to drive up to the Power Station at the end of Black Bear Pass overlooking Telluride, it is out of this world), cut over Ophir pass to Ouray (little Switzerland) before heading to Colorado Springs and home. All in all just over 3k miles and two weeks. If you are going that far might as well save a day or two (or more) for some western Colorado.

I'd also recommend a drive through Monument valley, many western movie shots you see with huge rock formations in empty distances are shot there (Stagecoach, Forrest Gump, Wild West, Back to the Future, ect). It is about 2 hours south and the drive around the bottom canyons is cool!

Some of my homework I did that was useful was done on Tacoma world, they have a whole thread dedicated to those trails out there and the trucks aren't horribly shorter than ours (especially the CCLB's) so you can get an idea on difficulty.

I live in Salt Lake and go to Moab a couple times a year to do group runs on some of the crazier trails in my 99 Yukon, but I'm always down for easier trails anytime.
