18 Silverado Bulge near Dash Airbag

So I am probably being a little overly paranoid as this is my first new truck. They had to pry the money from my hands to get me to buy, had it not been for a new job I would have never bought a $40k truck, so that can explain my paranoia. Overall over the past month I have been pretty happy with my new 18, however, I have noticed one thing about this truck that I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced. I haven't been able to look at any other trucks to see if it is similar. I do not know anyone with this bodystyle and the dealer is closed when I'm not working it seems. I notice on the passenger side of the dash, above where the dash airbag sits, I can sort of see the outline of the airbag underneath on the left lower corner. It is not a crack or anything like that, but I can see the rounded edge of what I assume the airbag below looks like. Can anyone else see this on the dash of their truck or am I just that unlucky?

Never noticed anything like that on the airbag but post a few pics so everyone can take a look.

My dash issue is the plastic filler piece right at the windshield they ALL seem to pucker up in cold weather and the edge sticks up where it annoys me. This 17 Denali with the driver assist package (red led warning light on drivers side seems to stiffen the piece better) so it is a problem on th 17 only on the passenger side. This pic is from my 16 Denali drivers side please note that it that did not have the drivers assist package. Passenger side has the same pucker.................All trucks have been like this since the 14 redesign. I guess GM has decided it is to costly to redesign that piece since the 19's are almost ready to launch, probably only aggravates a few people (like me) anyway I guess.

I don't have anything like that going on, I will try to get a couple of pictures about what I am talking about tomorrow, might be kinda hard to get a picture of though, have to try and get it in the right light. I can see it easily from the drivers seat. I guess  I shouldnt call it a bulge, its moreso just a light "outline" of the airbag below the dash. I guess a cutout where the airbag deploys from. If you run your hand over it, its hard to tell if its raised up or not. But I bet if someone who didn't know the outline was there, they would probably not be able to feel it if they had their eyes closed. I am probably being overly paranoid but I am really wondering if there is someone else out there that has noticed it lol I can't be unlucky enough to be the only one.

I should also add that I just have an LT so I don't have the nice leathery dash I have just the basic plastic one. You can sort of see the whole outline of the airbag cutout but its most noticeable in the lower left corner

I think I know exactly what you’re talking about. That’s normal. It’s a seam where the dash is designed to split should the airbag deploy. All the trucks have it. It’s part of the design.

This on the other hand doesn't look normal. I’d have it looked at under warranty.

Thank you for the reply. So I assume this means you can see the same on your truck as well? Now that I have noticed the one spot, if I look from the passenger side of the dash, I can actually see the entire rectangular outline of the "airbag" in the dash. I guess it is normal in that case. I didn't notice it before but I guess it has probably been there since new. I tried to snap a picture this morning but I am having issues with my phone .

Yes, I think there are a couple of airbag outlines I can see if I look at just the right angle.

Replace a few of these for this problem. It always lays flat whenever I’ve replaced it

Are you talking about DNTs issue with the defroster vent panel, or my dash airbag "issue"?
