2wd vs 4wd Ride Height?

Are the 4x4's any higher then the 2wds in 2018?

I have not found any 2wds in Colorado to compare. I know my 2015 4x4 sat incredible low in  the front before I lifted it.  I am heading to the GMC dealer in a couple hours to order a truck and I really don't need the 4x4. Im making a lowered street truck. Would be nice to save 4k. I know the resell would be better on the 4x4 if I ever needed to sell it. But if the 2wd is actually lower, and will sit lower when I add drop springs then I think I would rather have 2wd.

I assume the 2wd must way less as well.

If you're already going up there, bring a tape measure.  I will say that I pulled the blocks out of the back of mine and put McGaughys 2" drop shackles on my 2WD crew cab short box and it leveled it to within a 1/8 to 1/4"  There have been some differences with just swapping out the shackles between the 2WD and 4WD (as well as crew cab vs regular and double cab) but I chalked it up to suspension setup due to the extra weight from the 4WD drive train up front.   The shackles alone on a 4WD would level it.

But seriously, take a tape measure up there.

I would measure... but in Colorado you cannot find a 2wd on a lot. There are no 2wd in any formate within a few hours of me. I went a head and just ordered a 4x4. It will be me useful and is only 300 lbs heavier.

I have a 17 z71 Sierra slt 4wd and park next to a 17 Ltz 2wd and the ltz almost look taller but they are the same height.

Resale value is better on a 4x4. At least in climates it snows, etc.

You can go just as low with a 4x4 as a 2wd.  This is 4/5.  there's people a lot lower.
