Slight Squealing/Grinding From Front Axle/Wheel, Help!?!

Recommended Posts

So for about a year now my truck has been giving a slight squealing/grinding noise on my front end that is Always there, whether i'm going 5mph or 50mph. And tonight I just changed both of my front rotors and pads, which I thought would solve the problem and of course the sound is still there!

Do I Need to grease the bearings and axle itself? Is it maybe the caliper isn't going back all the way? (The caliper seemed to be working fine, as well did everything else on the brakes when I changed the rotors and pads). I don't know what it could be, any ideas? Thanks for your help, you all have been such a great help for me always

Is your transfer case in 2 wheel drive, or in 4 wheel auto?

Rather than replacing parts, I would go to a repair shop and ask them for a free estimate.

A free estimate is the same thing as a diagnostic. One is free, the other is not - but you get the same results.

So here are two videos one of each wheel after wheels and brakes taken off. A fellow on another forum said it’s the hubs before I even posted this video, so I’m pretty sure that’s what it is!

Probably easiest to replace the entire assembly.  You get new ABS sensors with them too. Did mine in an afternoon.

Where did you get the parts? How much $$?

I’m going to buy on eBay whatever one has the longest warranty, it’s about $70 for both

Bought Moog hub assemblies from Summit Racing. If I remember correctly $115 a piece. Better price than anyone else and their main showroom is local to me. Didn't want to go cheap.
