Straight through or offset muffler

I am putting a Magnaflow muffler on my 95 Z71 K1500 5.7 truck, but don't know if I should go with a straight through or offset inlet/outlet. Any suggestions ? I'm putting on a single in single out 3" muffler. I would think that the straight through is going to be louder. yes/no? I am also putting on a high flow cat by Magnaflow.

well if the straight through one is cylindrical compared to the offset one that is probably an oval, the oval one might be more quiet depending on the design. I don't know what you're looking for(more flow, less noise, etc), but you could look at magnaflows page and see what specific application they suggest for your vehicle. Also call them and find more about each type of muffler. The single 3 should be better for torque especially on the low end.
