Quad 8" Sub Box, is it possible?

I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 LT Z71 Double Cab and i'm trying to get the best bass out of it that I can.

The obvious option is to get a box under the back seats with speakers in it, but everything I can find only has two cutouts for 8's, 10's, and 12's.

I figure two 10's or two 12's will sound better than two 8's, but what about four 8's? Anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone found a box that can fit four 8's? Is this even possible in the double cab?

Depends what sub and if you want sealed or ported. Its dependent on the air space requirements of the sub you choose

I guess i'd be looking for some help on that too. I would assume its possible to find a box or somebody that can build it, and due to the restrictions it may limit which 8's i can put in, and that limit may not allow for the better 8's that would allow four of them to sound better than two 12's. Just trying to get the best bang for my buck.

2 12s has more cone area than 4 8s.  Just so you know

Are you thinking two 12's will sound better than four 8's? Even though the 12's would have to be shallow mount and the 8's could likely be full sized?

I think two 12's will sound better than 4 8's. The 12's can hit so much lower in general.

This is not true. Subwoofer and enclosure specs have way more to do with it then the size of the woofer

The box, whether purchased or custom made, cannot be very large. The 8's could be front facing. allowing for much of the depth to be available for the speaker. If I use anything bigger, i'd have to use down-firing speakers. This means that with the limited space and already needing a gap between the face of the speaker and the floor, i would typically only have around 5.5 inches of space for the speaker inside, so i'd have to use shallow mount 12's which don't sound nearly as good as full size 12's. This is where my knowledge of speakers has been exhausted. I've never listed to shallow mounted speakers, i dont know the difference in sound, and with that limited space under the seats, there's already limited air space inside the box.

Two 8s in a well built box will sound better than four 8s.  There's just not enough volume under the seat for good performance on 4 8s.  That being said, two good quality 8s in a custom box will sound better than two 12s that are shoehorned under that tight space.  I went with two Sundown SA 8s and I still raised my seat 2 1/2 inches just to get better volume in there.

(2) 12” woofer = approx (4.8) 8” woofers

cone areas are different by woofer but that’s a good approximation

that being said, I have no desire for that much sub in my truck anymore, maybe when I was younger.

I’d stick with less sub and higher quality

212s is actually a little more cone area than 4 8s    but if it were me  I would use single 12 or 2 10s to make it easy

Yes I mentioned how many 8’s it would take to equal (2) 12’s

I read it wrong.

I think you need to reconsider shallow mounts. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I second this.  I built my own box for a single shallow-mount 10.  I wanted storage on the other side.  Just a single down-firing 10" sub in a sealed box is plenty of bass for me.  The cab isn't that big, after all.
