I spent hours going thru different dealers inventory for a Max Tow dbl cab. Just purchased a new 2018 for a super low price.  Not everyone is a fan of dbl cabs but I am. 2018 GMC 6.2 Max Tow SLT Premium pkg for under 40 K.  Flew in to my favorite Boise ID dealer and drove home. They are the only dealer I have found that stocked 6 or so Max Tow dbl cabs. The prices just keep getting better.   Not affiliated with the dealer but liked the sales process. In and out in a short time with no games or pressure in the Fand I office.  GMC incentives getting crazy so they can clear the lots for the 2019. I had an exact same 2017 Truck that I bought there last year but sold it to a relative. Bought the 2018 for less than I bought the 2017 last year and thought that was a sweet deal. Need the Max Tow to tow my rv.

Nice truck and nothing wrong with a dbl cab.  The 6.5 box is a sure thing with the dbl. cab.  I am finding the deals on the '18's very tempting as well but not enough to part with my '15.  Enjoy!

Glad to hear you got the truck at a good price.  Shopping for a 2018 25000HD Sierra Denali called this same dealer.  Too evasive, would not give any details over phone, did not have an idea what APR, had to finance through them, etc...   

After taking everything into consideration, travel, adding back 2.5K into "Low Price" for using own financing, ended up buying at a Houston area dealer.  Granted not satisfied with the sales experience, even walked out once, but $10,250 off MSRP and using own financing was the end result.

I have used their in house financing as they give an additional 1-2 grand off. I am able to pay off quickly. Gigantic first month payment then 5 smaller ones and it’s done. I am in a different situation then most so it works in my case. Call Reggie 541- 514-8106 as no bs.  As I noted before no affiliation and no skin in the game but much cheaper than any other dealer in my case.

Crap - prices dropped another $1500 hundred on my rig. Thought I got a deal but they continue to drop ??

Last week every 1/2 ton truck I saw on my two local dealer lots were 25% off.  They are back to normal now.  But everything from the work truck to the high country.  I saw $60,000 high country's for $44,000

Great time to get a deal on a new 18. I just picked up a new 2018 Denali Ultimate std bed with 14 miles on it for 46k and change. It was like a feeding frenzy at Laura GMC LOL even the salesmen working there were buying them.. Tradein value in my area is well over what I just paid...........I am happy as a clam

Be happy with the deal you got at the time.  People before you paid more, some will pay less.  We recently had a very similar experience with a Travel Trailer purchase.  Our great deal didn't last too long before prices dropped. Everyone has a similar story to ours.  Quit shopping for awhile and  enjoy your truck!

I agree. You never know. I got a good deal compared to a co worker’s purchase last year, but folks are getting slightly better deals from what I paid. I pushed for the best deal I could at the time. Really enjoying my truck.

I think the sale ended 2 or 3 days ago.

Yes once the sale units were gone it was over. I just sign up for the price watch on their website for the vehicles that i am interested in and wait till the deal is great enough to move me off of neutral  (they send you an email) if you do not pounce on it it will disappear very quickly. Took +3 months to see this awesome deal. Patience is a necessity if you have to have it now (like most people) you will pay through the nose like most people.

For me and the growing kids I needed the crew cab, finding a crew cab standard bed max trailering in my area was slim pickings. I still don’t think I did bad with the incentives that were available when I got mine 8500 under msrp. May not have been the best deal in the world but worked for me.

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉

      Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
