1998 Chevrolet 1500 5.7L engine tough crank and has lower end knock

So recently I got a new engine with only 80k. I put it in and everything ran great until I busted an oil line and drained all the oil out while I was driving. After replacing that, engine has a hard time turning over. Takes 3-4 times to finally kick over. Once it kicks over it has a knock in the lower end. Before I take everything apart I just want to get your guys opinions. New battery, new starter, new waterpump, and also I put a bigger alternator in. I was thinking that the hard start could be because of the bigger alternator with a different sized pulley which threw the rotation time off. I dont know really, I'm throwing shit out there. I'm kinda tired of working on this thing. Everytime I turn around its something new.

Sorry man, you probably know the answer. While you are changing this engine it would be a good idea to service the radiator too. Change your soft lines inspect the hard ones. Changing the mounts, checking the wires, anything that would be easy to do with the engine out. Running the engine out of oil is something you usually don’t get a second chance with.

Main bearings and connecting rod bearings are lower end knock. But you've toasted everything else as well. Time for replacement engine again
