Clock resets when engine cranks

Recommended Posts

The presets on the radio done reset, just the clock.

Just had the alternator replaced and this began to happen each time I start the engine.

Battery shows 14 volts, all wires see to have a good connections.

Looking to see if someone else has experienced this.

Thanks for your help and time.

I checked my ground wires and none seem to be even slightly loose.
I don't know is checking the less than a year old battery is gonna help as it cranks right up, with no hesitation and with the key off is steady at 11.9 volts and 14.1'volts when driving.
Not sure what else it can be. I just still think a ground is bad.

Double check your battery post cable end. I am thinking the 2003's had the accessory wire married into that pressed connection. Probably has developed some corrosion inside where you cannot see over the years inside the pressed connection (IT WILL GET WORSE) If this were mine i would probably just go ahead and replace the entire cable with a new one. Other cheaper easier option is to just change the end at the battery.

Thanks DNT.

I WILL Thanks.DNT, will check that.

I was wondering if I bought a new radio, ice for s great guy to install, and maybe he could find the same thing, but how would I search, myself to find the same radio unit?

Thanks EVERYONE.

On edit-- would this work if I run out of other options?
