Greasing Ball Joints

Most pump way to much grease into the zerks.  If you see grease coming out, to much and that can cause seal problems.

I hit up all 11 of my grease points at every oil change.  Usually about 3 pumps each as I see the boots expand.  Seems the 2019's do not have any to grease, all sealed.

Really?  I would have thought 19 should be the same as it's a carryover on the HD.  I can see GM doing that though... why build stuff that lasts when you can do sealed joints that will barely make 60000 miles.  Unless you mean half tons. For the half ton that just means eliminating the greaseable outer tie rod which I think gets missed by most anyway lol.  A sealed joint is better than a greaseable that never gets grease.

Yes, I meant the 1500's.  No grease joints.

Fwiw, starting with the new chassis in 2011, they went from 11 zerks to 9 on the HD's.

Haven't been under a 19 yet, but I'd also be surprised if it changed.

A while back, someone posted pictures here:

Don't break the seal, don't let the dirt get in....

Grease leak means the boot is damaged or ... or someone didn't know enough to stop when it swelled. Oh bullshit

Are there more than 1 type of grease needing mechanical things ?

like the type that lets some grease squeeze out ?

and the type that is a sealed unit ? like  a rubber boot ...
