has anyone seen something like this for the factory front door speaker locations in the 14-18s?

otherwise, how are you mounting the tweeter for components? just cut a hole in the door panel behind the screen?

thanks

i get it... i saw these that were drop-ins for my OBS Tahoe, and thought maybe someone had seen something similar as a drop-in...the 14-18 truck ones are surface mount, and dont look factory without a bunch of work....

Why not just put the mid in the door and the tweeter in the dash like i am?

Since the factory door speakers are 6x9,  all you need to do is buy those adapters that let you mount a 6.5 and tweeter in a 6x9 location

Replaced dashes with Memphis 2.75s

I am doing components on doors that have separate tweeters. Have the mounting adapters for 6.5”s. Could just do coaxials but I already own the infinity kappa components for front and 3-ways going in rears.

Wanted to keep everything reversible to factory look so no drilling in new visible locations.

Having a full range hitting off the windsheild and components in the door is going to sound funky.  You really want the fullrange and tweeter somewhat next to eachother

Right so back to my question
How is everyone mounting the component tweeter in the door?

I havent seen anyone with a k2 do that yet

I've seen them mounted in the sail panel but that negates your goal of looking factory.

Replacement sail panels aren’t terribly expensive if ever needed so that is plan B soon to become plan a if I have no other bright ideas once I get in the door. Thanks.

I put my tweeter in the sail panel, a 3'' in the dash and 8'' in the door.
