That was the conditions before I started to select L4 or L5. Discovered that the dash display would show V6 and V4 mode. Still don't always remember to down shift it though. Too busy watching other drivers in my lane.

Guys I had a 2016 8 speed. At 1500 rpms and about 60 mph it had a shutter and you could watch the tac jump around. It was the torque converter. GM replaced it under warranty and no more problems

Was the RPM flux happening in Drive only or even in a manual set gear at the same RPM?

Drive only. You could put the cruise on and feel it and watch the Tach
