Scott H Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Hello.. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 with manual 4x4. Went to put the truck in 4x4 this morning. I can move the 4x4 shifter into 4 high or low but it will not engage? No lights have come up on the dash indicating any problems neither does the 4x4 light appear? I checked the 4x4 30amp fuse #67 under the hood and it looks in good shape. Any ideas of what might be the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott H.

kickass audio Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 I'm not 100% certain on the setup of this edition sierra but I helped fix a dodge ram that had a manual 4x4 engagement problem and the issue was that 2 parts were causing a failure to shift. There is a short shaft that goes from the lever you actuate on the floor to the lever on the side of the transfer case and I found that the lever had popped off and both of the rubber bushings were totally worn out on both ends of the shaft that links the floor shifter to the transfer case. Do you have a lot of play in the floor lever or is it pretty tight?
Colossus Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 You said manual 4x4? So you have a work truck trim with the floor mounted transfer case lever, or dash mounted round knob 4x4 indicator/switch?
