If they wanted to do a Turbo Motor, they shoulda used the 3.0TT V6 from the Caddy CT6.

Woulda been fun to see that go against the 3.5L Ecoboost.

Or even the 3.6TT V6 from the ATS-V.

They’re trying to offer a price-point solution.

All of the engines you mention cost more than the 5.3 or even 6.2 V8.

But it would be cool [emoji4]

I'll take that as a NO vote to the "what if" question.:D

Enjoy the Holiday!

 Yea....that's pretty much a no. That motor would have been a great option for an S-10 RC. Right? But it isn't about CAFE numbers and it isn't about giving the buyer what he want's. Not sure when that stopped being the focus. Anyway.....

Right.

Really think it would be a great crate engine for a Colorado or Canyon. Maybe some of the compacts? Malibu, things like that? That thing in a late 60's Nova would be a monster.

Want to try one out, but couldn't be convinced to commit to one. Interesting but not my cup of tea.

GM marketing to customer: If you prefer v-6 more than turbo 4 we will take v-6 away except fleet stripper model. If you prefer 5.3 more than turbo 4 we will offer 5.3 in mid to high end with a steeper up charge of coarse. Eventually ya all will get the mind set that not only will you like the turbo 4 but will request it . The good old ''option not available''
