2018 Sierra Headlight Turn Signal?

New to the page, quick question.

Recently bought a new 2018 SLT Z71. My dad has one but a 2017, I noticed his headlights change the halo to Amber when his turn signal is on. Mine doesn’t, it uses a side marker light. Was this only on 2017 models? Or perhaps a SLT premium item. Just looking for some answers. I can upload a picture if anyone needs it. Thanks!

He has not had any modifications done to his headlights, the lower half of his headlight changes to Amber.

The SLT Premium Plus and above (Denali) have the LED turn signal. SLT Premium and lower have standard incandescent turn signal. 

The higher level lights are also LED low and high beam, where the standard are HID

You bought a lower trim level.

Didn't know there was tiers within the SLT models.

Yes it is. You’ll need the actual headlamp assemblies and a harness from Gen5DIY or @pgamboa to make them plug n play!

You bought a base model SLT. You had to upgrade to the premium or get the $500 LED headlight option on the base SLT to get the good lights.
