Fuel pressure issues?

Recommended Posts

Hello so I have a 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.7 engine in it. It has about 350000KM on it. When it sits for more then a couple days it has a really hard tim starting. I am thinking it is related to a fuel pressure issue? I can spray some fuel right down the intake tube and it fires right up perfectly. It also idles and run normal when it is running. So if it was the fuel pump wouldn’t it run rough once running? Any help would be appreciated!

Also the fuel pressure regulator at that mileage and the new ethanol gas might be bad. If there is an Orielly/kragen auto parts you can rent a fuel rail pressure gauge to see what the pressure is/bleed might be located(what system).
