Bye bye 6spd

Way too early.
I agree and disagree. I can upload at least 200 pictures of this thing towing or hauling quite heavy. I didn't try to kill this truck but, I also used it for work so it's a tool I never was easy on. Anyway, like I've mentioned, I was expecting it to go soon based on its use. In the end I'm very happy with what I've gotten out of this truck. She'll have an easier life as I have hired more people and bought actual work trucks.

Mind if I ask the price? I have the billet stage 3+ full built and 3clutch stall also billet. And it was expensive. Most rebuilds I see are about 4-5k stock style and 5-6k built. Then stall.

I paid 3700.00 for a rebuild of my trans. They brought it to the dealer for the re-learn. Managed to squeeze max warranty out of them at 36k miles. They said if ANYTHING goes, even if an original part they didn't replace, they cover it.

It was 4300 for a remanufactured unit

GM wanted 5700 for the job.

This truck will just be my daily cruiser/home project cruiser now so it'll be fine for another couple of years. Although, damn, now I'm regretting not just getting it built up a little haha.

Yeah the clutch packs are cheap. As are the springs. Converter is money but the issue many are having. But sounds like you got lucky and will be ok

well my  2014 1500 only got to 73K miles before it decided to go. 4 months out of warranty too which sucked!

And yet in another thread some people argue the 6 speed issues. Trans temp and slip kill them early.

I see oversized tires.  Did you re gear?  If not, than that's your issue.

This sounds stupid till I thought about it. You are right i wonder what your slip tables and torque management is thing and doing. It is the first table we check when in trans tune. That variable effects traction, abs, stabitrack, and torque management.
