5% window tint

Recommended Posts

My last truck had 35%.  On my '19,  I went with 20% on the front doors and 35% over the factory privacy.  It's pretty dark.  If I'd do it again, I think I'd go with 5% on the front doors and 20% over the factory privacy.

I put 30% ceramic on the front. Almost match factory tint on the rear windows. When it is dark,  I can't see what is beside me. Also, the the socialist state of Maryland, they can pull you over for anything under 35%.....

I have 5% all the way around as well as 35% on my whole windshield and 5% brow on the windshield and I don’t think it’s dark enough but it’s all in the eyes of the beholder. At night it’s not bad at all in the city (street lights around) but out in the country you can’t really see out it. But you can see other vehicle headlights just fine if you are tying to make a turn

My first post!  I've got my truck Monday (7/1) and LOVE IT.  My other car was in the shop getting some tuning done and I figured it was about time to get that 2nd vehicle and make it a truck.  I've been a big fan of the GMCs for quite sometime and the 2019 appealed to me more than any other truck on the market right now.

Anyways, my wife and I are debating this very topic. I like that I can see out of the truck with the way it comes from the factory but would like to at least tint the front doors a bit and the rear glass more.  My other car (2016 SS Sedan) has 5% on the rear, rear doors, and 15% on the front doors.  At night and it the rain, it's difficult to see much of anything out back.   It's what's keeping me from going 5% on the front doors.

I'm not sure what I want on the truck.  The rear doors are 30%?  I'm thinking 20% on all doors and 5% on the rear?  What do yall think?

I always go 35% on front and rear windows. No visibility problems at all, light enough to not get pulled over for it here in California (though technically still illegal), and provides a good deal of glare and heat reduction. Been doing it like that on all my cars for years.

5% over the factory rear glass will be very dark at night especially backing up. 20% would be better.
