mds47588 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 I know that they can be "relatively" easy to program for a gate/garage door opener. I have neither and would like to use them to turn on lights inside the house as I pull into the driveway. Has anyone used them for that purpose? If so, what did you have to purchase to make them work? It seems as if the Homelink is somewhat dated, but as long as the buttons are in the truck, I'd like to make them do something.
1SLOW1500 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 I would look into a wave light controller. I have a smart house so some lights, garage door, door locks, HVAC, my cameras, and even shows and music are controlled by phone. When I get home it updates the house server with everything off phone. Same when I am away I can control and see the house. My home link in all the vehicles opens garage but also notifies the the control panel and you can easily set lights or anything electrical. Hone panel also talks to you and says status of sensors. So I hear in the house, front door camera motion, doorbell camera, front door locked/unlocked, door open, motion detector, ect.....You can program her to say anything you can type in the box. But always yes can be done. And no I'm not paranoid I'm prepared. Also tin foil inside my hats and even my dog has his on foil hat. Because aliens can control your mind......[emoji2958]Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
wforrest08 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 There’s all kinds of these switches out there you just have to go find them type homelink light switch in the search on Amazon. Any of the ones that say will work with your brand garage door opener should be compatible. https://www.homelink.com/compatible/products
stacyschrist Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Does anyone know a security system that is connected to home link buttons? Ty
Lancealtar Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) Hey there! I totally get what you're looking for. I was in a similar situation not too long ago, searching for a security system that would work with my home link buttons. I ended up choosing Vivint security cameras, and I've been quite happy with it so far. It's been a convenient addition to my home, and I can control the system using the home link buttons in my car, which is pretty cool. Edited March 22, 2023 by Lancealtar
