I have question I have 2018 Silverado 6k miles I do oil change at 3k miles by my self . now Chevrolet is contacting with me about first service oil change I have question do I haveto come back to dealer for oil change In order to keep warranty or I can do oil changes by my self or they will void my powertrain warranty?

You will not void your warranty, I assume your oil change you did yourself that you reset the oil life monitor. That data is logged, and as long as you can prove you bought the oil and filter, you're fine.

Every time the Oil Reset button is engaged it is recorded and OnStar will have all the dates/times....Interesting, because I drive for a weeks with the OIL Reminder chiming away before I get so annoyed and hit reset and go anywhere from 8K-12K before finally changing the oil.  No issues at 90K!  Warranty?  Don't care really would never pay for one anyways......

I change my own oil on all my vehicles.  GMC or Chevy owner center online has an easy way for you to log your own work/oil changes into their system.  I do it so that I and them have a record instead of keeping receipts to show just in case!

GM offers 2 free oil changes with new vehicles. I let them do the first 2 then do my own afterwards and haven't had any issues.
