Flowmaster Super 44 Install

New to the site. Got a 2018 Silverado 5.3l crew cab. Installed a Flowmaster super 44 today. I had the cat back pipe and clamp of another truck so i can experiment with different mufflers to get the right sound without ruining the factory exhaust setup. Imo sound pretty good. Nice and deep. Not as drony as some say. Definetly barable. Sounds clean and smooth. All cats still in place. Going to run for a few weeks and see how it goes. Little bit loud for my liking but not annoying. Not to bad in v4 either just a slight chop nothing annoying. Im looking for something deep and subtle. Just a little rumble for everyday driving not as aggressive. Can anyone recommend anything? Thanks.

The 44 won't be really loud in that truck with all the catalytic converters on it.

Borla seems to be more popular these days. More so than Magnaflow and Flowmaster from back in the day.

Just looking for deep mellow tone. Nothing head turning. I was looking into a 22 or 24 magnaflow, any insight on this?

Magnaflow is going to be more mellow than Flowmaster Super mufflers, I bet it would sound good. The Super 44 is a redesigned Super 40 that has the potential to really growl and drone. There's a market for that sound, so that's why it exists.

Try researching a 3" equivalent to the Magnaflow 12909. The 12909 is a 22" long straight through body that is 3.5" in and out, perfect for the 6.2L. I used it and also cut out the flapper because I disabled V4. It's a mellow, deeper tone outside the cab and just a hint of noise inside the cab. It's not going to rattle any windows or turn any heads, but that's the point. $117 for the muffler and around $40 for a shop to cut out the stock muffler (and flapper if you want). WAAAAYYYY cheaper than a full on cat-back. Guys that do a full on cat-back on a 6.2L are kind of stupid because the stock exhaust is 3.5" all the way until you exit the resonator.
