Black bar on instrument cluster

I have a black bar on my instrument cluster and it comes and goes what feels like at random; when it is displayed if there is information that would be displayed in that area it still displays that information and that area gets smaller. I took it do the dealership and they still don't have any idea on what it could be.

That’s a video display, the display is going out needs to be replaced, by the way go to a different dealer.

Even if that area lights up when the bar is back to display information?

As stated twice already, it seems to not be working as intended - I'd be finding a new dealer with which to work regardless of how your display is intermittently behaving.
