Did that to dad's 53 Ford package shelf back in the day kids still stood up in the back seat. :crackup:What a thrash' n. ?

Maybe try some dry ice on it.

Handle dry ice with welding gloves.

It may freeze it and pop off.

Buy new parts.

Should peel off or a way to take it off

yeah

You can pry the hard plastic bottom of the lid away from the "soft" top.

But if memory serves right, that little storage tray is "molded" into the lid.

I have put the chrome lid handle in my last two trucks, but it has been around a year since the last time I did it.

Check GMpartsdirect to see if there is a schematic for the lid if you go that way.

Get it cool enough to solidify, then scrape the majority off.

Then use goo gone to clean up the remaining residue.

Well not sure how nobody knew this, or how I didn’t. But that little rubber piece just lifts right off. The plastic tray is bolted down

You are correct, it is just a little rubber mat that sits inside the fixed piece.

They changed it when they started the wireless charging in the center console.

Been awhile since I had my 2014.

Glad you're going to be able to pop that piece off and clean it. I remember doing something like this when I was a kid in the early 80s. I wedged a bunch of crayons into the drain rail between the roof and the top of the door. PERFECT FIT! A few days later my mom was wondering where the hell the psychedelic lava lamp melt onto the back side window was coming from. I didn't know any better, I thought I'd just store them there until I needed them on our next long drive ?
