2019 Custom Trail Boss Tuning Options - 5.3 AFM Engine

Ok. I've got a 2019 Custom Trail Boss. It's got the 5.3 AFM with the 6 speed trans. I cannot get a firm answer on tuning. Since I've got the "last generation" powertrain, is it tunable or am I out of luck because it is the new body style 2019?

That is one of the reasons that I bought the custom TB instead of the LT. Do you know what my options are? My 2015 Silverado was great after an out of the box tuner and I loved the way that my truck drove after tuning out the AFM as well.

Should be much the same as your 15, I’d reach out to BlackBear and see what Justin can do for you. Let us know how it works out for you.

Nobody has cracked the T1XX trucks.

 

Just because it's running the older engine doesn't mean we can get into the computer yet. I've been on HP Tuners for a long time and haven't seen one file for a 2019 new body style or heard of anyone tuning one yet.

 

If someone can get me a file, I'll believe that it can be done then.

That's unfortunate but I appreciate the info. I put an inquiry into Lew at Diablewtune and Blackbear. Hopefully I'll get some news back tomorrow.

Vector Motorsports in Brighton Twp Michigan said they could tune an arm 19 motor.  I have no proof to back it up, just what I was told by them.

Possible they are still talking about the 2019 LD version of the silverado which is still the K1XX body style because they made both trucks for about 6-7 months before it was fully stopped.

Maybe but I specifically asked about a new body style 2019, and not an old style 19.

I have no social media so I sifted through what I could on the facebook and instagram as a "quest" and still found nothing when looking at their pages.

 

The internet would be blowing up if they were really able to be done.

That's the website.  I don't want to sound like an ass, but I hope your wrong, but I'm thinking you are probably correct.

Well, you were correct.  I actually emailed them earlier and explained my question and was told they could.  I called yesterday about tuning my transmission, and it was all of the sudden a big deal to do it.  I asked about the 19 5.3 6 speeds and she said no they can't.  I was a little discouraged by them.
