Air temperature sensor

Where is the sensor that controls the thermometer for the mirror display in a '03 Silverado 5.3? Mine intermittently doesn't display.

From what I remember it's either clipped to the front grill support bars or it's clipped somewhere behind the grill and passenger side headlight assemblies.

That's where it is on on an '04. More behind the turn signal assembly
